Estimator - Civil/Heavy/Highway

Unicorn Construction is seeking experienced Civil Estimator. 

Must have at least 5 years take off and pricing experience with Heavy/Highway Projects.  Experience with NYC Agencies and HCSS Heavy Bid a plus. Position requires strong knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.). This is a full-time position at our Montvale, NJ office, salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Excellent compensation and benefit package.

Position also entails initial project setup upon award and preparation of documents for hand off to project management team.

Develop important documents that must be submitted to agencies and GC’s prior to start of work. This includes the development of a several plans such as Site Safety, Operational Safe Work, QA/QC, Environmental, permit applications and engineering schemes etc.

Furthermore, the position also requires preparation and filing of submittals for permanent materials, mix designs, schedules, RFI’s, Shop Drawings, SDS’s, catalog cuts and more.

Candidates for this position must be able and willing to learn also capable of interpreting contract specifications and drawings in order to organize owner required documents on a job-by-job basis.

Such agencies may include NYSDOT, PANYNJ, MTA, NYCDEP, Con Edison, NYCDPR, NYCDDC, and LIRR.
