We currently have an immediate opening for a Catering & Service Manager:

Summary: Under the direct supervision of the GM, this position is responsible for servicing accounts. It is also responsible for ensuring guests satisfaction with the execution of catering functions by planning, coordinating, and following through on group related meetings, meals and group functions in accordance with the resort standards.

Essential Functions:

• Ensure that function set-up meets and/or exceeds customer expectations by working closely with each groups' meeting planners to determine their needs for meeting rooms, food and beverage, and equipment requirements.
• Ensures that functions meet the customer's expectations by following up regularly on the status of functions.
• Maintains communication and follow-up procedures in line with guidelines provided by the Director of Food & Beverage.
• Compiles and reviews daily and weekly event sheets.
• Conducts regular meeting room inspection and reports things that need to be changed/fixed to the appropriate department.
• Utilizes leadership skills and motivation techniques in order to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction of direct reports.
• Maintains safe working conditions within department and hotel.
• Keeps Director of Food & Beverage promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual maters of significance.
• Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objective of this position.
• Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
• Conducts resort site inspections when necessary. Offers creative suggestions to up sell during these visits.
• Responsible for selling Weddings by preparing proposals and working with prospects to book their wedding at the property.
• Communicates accurate information on in-house groups to help resort associates service their needs most completely.
• Maintains daily contacts with in-house groups.
• Anticipates (or reacts to) group problems and provides a solution.
• Maintains effective communications with all those necessary regarding group business, reports or conventions, copies of correspondence and memos.
• Prepares specialized reports as needed. Event Forms, Room Lists, Resumes, Etc.
• Understands forecasting month end reports; assists in compiling reports when needed.
• Keep abreast of budgeted revenue goals and assists in putting together plans and actions or originates and generates business when needed.
• Responsible for knowing and abiding by all department, resort and company policies and procedures
• Maintains accurate files and reports.

Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to customers, guests and employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Computer Skills: Knowledge of Opera PMS and Microsoft Office.
