Usher Position

Join our Hale Centre Theatre team  We are currently seeking part-time ushers for our hosting staff.  We're looking for individuals who are friendly, have excellent people skills, and bring a positive, upbeat attitude to the team. As a Theatre Usher, you will play a crucial role in making sure our patrons have an exceptional experience from the moment they arrive until they leave.

Responsibilities:

1. Greet patrons as they arrive at the Theatre and assist them with finding their seats.
2. Provide information about the layout of the Theatre, restrooms, concessions, and any other relevant facilities.
3. Check tickets and direct patrons to their assigned seats, ensuring that they are seated in the correct location.
4. Assist patrons with special needs, including wheelchair accessibility, hearing assisted devices,  or vision impairments.
5. Monitor the audience during performances to ensure compliance with Theatre policies and address any disruptions.
6. Assist with crowd control and emergency evacuations, if necessary.
7. Keep aisles and walkways clear of obstructions to ensure the safety of patrons.
8. Concessions set up and sales 
9. Assist with cleaning duties before and after performances, including sweeping, mopping, and emptying trash receptacles.
10. Provide excellent customer service by addressing patrons' questions and concerns in a friendly and professional manner.
11. Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required to stay informed about Theatre policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Must be at least 16 years old and able to obtain a food handlers permit
2. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
3. Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
4. Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor.
5. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
6. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift/move heavy objects if necessary.
7. Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role is preferred but not required.

Working Conditions: Theatre Ushers typically work in a fast-paced environment, often during evenings, weekends, and holidays. This role may require standing for extended periods and interacting with a diverse range of patrons. The work environment may include dim lighting, loud noises, and crowded conditions during peak performance times.

Starting hourly rate is $12.00
