Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDescription:

Under the direction of the Laboratory/Radiology Director, Laboratory Supervisor, and Radiology Supervisor performs various laboratory and radiology functions as per mandated regulations such as: chemistry, microscopic, serologic, hematologic, parasitic, and bacteriologic testing as well as radiological bone procedures for the use of treatment and diagnosis of disease. Responsible for receiving specimens in laboratory and obtaining bodily material. Responsible for demonstrating the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served, including demonstrating knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span. Must be able to identify and categorize each patient’s age-specific grouping of need, such as those for infant, adolescent or geriatric patients. Responsible for compliance with other requirements affecting the Medical Center, such as State/Federal regulations, JCAHO Standards and Compliance Standards. Requirements:

Education:

1. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.

2. Graduate of approved program in medical technology and in radiology technology preferred.

3. Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Technologist preferred. MT/MLT preferred

Experience/Training:

1. Must have current CPR certification.

2. At least one-year experience in a laboratory/radiology setting required.

3. Must be proficient in phlebotomy and in basic laboratory and radiology procedures.
