Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for evaluating patients' health and assisting physicians in providing optimal patient care. The RN plans, implements, and documents individualized nursing care based on patients' specific needs and collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality healthcare. Through assessments, planning, and intervention, the RN plays a critical role in the delivery of patient-centric care, utilizing evidence-based practices and adhering to the highest standards of care.
Essential Job Functions:
- Patient Assessment: Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients' health status, identifying care needs and priorities for treatment based on medical diagnoses and functional health frameworks.
- Care Planning and Implementation: Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized care plans for assigned patients, aligning interventions with patient needs and goals.
- Nursing Interventions: Provide therapeutic nursing interventions according to established care plans and physician orders, ensuring the best possible patient outcomes.
- Patient Management: Manage the care of patients efficiently and effectively, advocating for evidence-based practice standards and supporting the adoption of innovative care delivery methods.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed records of patient care, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with standards of care and clinical priorities.
- Patient Advocacy: Advocate for patients' needs and preferences, supporting patient-centric care and facilitating communication between patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and ensure coordinated patient management.
- Compliance: Follow hospital policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements, to ensure a safe and effective care environment.
- Professional Growth: Stay current with developments in nursing and healthcare through continuing education and professional development opportunities.
- Other Duties: Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a related specialty.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Competence in electronic medical record (EMR) systems and other healthcare technologies.
