Job Summary

The Accounts Payable Clerk takes care of the invoices and bills at Fraser Industries. The Accounts Payable Clerk handles bookkeeping and supports required transactions that Auditors and Accountants will use when filing tax returns or computing taxation. This position is part-time, at 20-30 hours a week.

Responsibilities

  • Enter invoices into the accounting database
  • Receive and distribute mail to appropriate parties.
  • Code invoices for payment approval.
  • Support the 1099 filing and reporting.
  • Support the submission of credit applications for new suppliers.
  • Review PO lists monthly to make sure they are being closed.
  • Support accounting in tax audits.
  • Track and report employee expense reimbursements (cell phone, safety, clothing, etc.)
  • All other duties as assigned; the right candidate will also be given an opportunity to work with our Accountants to increase work responsibilities.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Competency with accounting tools
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel
  • Advanced data entry skills, typing skills, including 10-key
  • Comfortable with math and calculations
  • Good listening and communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills; must be detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Open to change and willing to learn new skills
  • Ability to follow up on pending issues
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Office or other software
  • Basic knowledge of use tax

Qualifications

  • High School Degree, GED or similar required
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.

Physical requirements

Position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to work in a manufacturing environment which includes moderate noise exposure, occasionally climbing up steep stairs/steps, walking for short periods of time over even and uneven terrain, reaching forward, overhead, and to the sides, etc. Must have listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Ability to move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs.
