Geologist - Core Logger

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionGeotemps, Inc. is currently seeking a Junior Core Logging Geologist in Fernley, NV and will last around 2-3 months. The Geologist will report directly to the Exploration Manager and their primary responsibilities are to manage the Company’s exploration campaign and assist in ore reserve calculations and reporting. Field exploration for high quality DE, clay, perlite and other minerals in the US and international locations will be a primary focus as will directing our core and rotary drilling activity in the regions near our company’s three primary mine sites. Additional responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

• Safely manage air rotary and diamond core drilling;
• Logging and characterizing drill samples;
• Drill sample data interpretation- rock types, structure, etc.
• Field sampling
• Surveying drill collar locations
• Determine appropriate locations for drilling targets
• Assisting in lands management, staking claims, and working with lease holders as needed
• Experience with databases and 3-D mine planning software is a plus
• Assist the managers with mine design as needed.
• Assist in the management of the lab
• Conduct safety inspections

Requirements/Certifications:The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in Earth Science, Geology or Geological Engineering and 2 to 5 years of experience as a Field Geologist working in volcanic and sedimentary terrains. Someone who is technically adept, personally resourceful and can demonstrate a solid record of accomplishment in field geology will excel in this role. The right candidate will be accustomed to working with a high degree of autonomy and be comfortable making sound decisions that will expand the Company’s mine reserves in an extremely finite resource. This position may require additional travel to other mine sites in the client's network.
