We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Traveling Crane Operator to join our team. The Traveling Crane Operator will be responsible for operating cranes at various job sites, including construction sites, industrial facilities, and other locations requiring lifting and moving of heavy materials. The role involves significant travel and the ability to adapt to different work environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating cranes, a strong commitment to safety, and the flexibility to work in diverse conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Crane Operation:
- Operate various types of cranes, including mobile cranes, tower cranes, and truck-mounted cranes, to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment.
- Perform pre-operation inspections to ensure the crane is in proper working condition and address any mechanical issues before use.
- Follow precise instructions and safety protocols to execute lifting operations and ensure the safe handling of loads.
- Site Preparation and Coordination:
- Travel to different job sites as required, setting up and positioning the crane for optimal performance and safety.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, riggers, and other team members to plan and execute lifting operations effectively.
- Assess site conditions, including terrain, overhead obstructions, and ground stability, to determine the safest approach for crane operation.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies related to crane operation and site safety.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and enforce safety practices among team members.
- Maintain accurate records of crane operations, including inspection logs, maintenance reports, and load charts.
- Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct routine maintenance on the crane, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.
- Identify and troubleshoot any mechanical issues or malfunctions and report them to the maintenance team for resolution.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Complete and submit daily reports detailing crane operations, site conditions, and any incidents or safety concerns.
- Maintain detailed records of lift plans, equipment usage, and other relevant documentation as required.
- Customer Service:
- Interact professionally with clients and stakeholders, addressing any questions or concerns related to crane operations.
- Provide excellent service by ensuring timely and efficient completion of lifting tasks.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid crane operator certification -TLL and LBC Required (e.g., NCCCO, OSHA).
- Valid Medical Card
- 2+years of experience operating cranes, with a proven track record of safety and reliability.
- Strong understanding of crane mechanics, load charts, and lifting techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in various environments.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a variety of crane types and lifting equipment.
- Knowledge of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
- Familiarity with additional construction or industrial equipment.
