Regular Assigned Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Underwriter for Bayshore Mortgage Funding, you will be responsible for:

  • Authorizing and underwriting loans.
  • Reviewing and verifying loan applications and supporting documentation.
  • Analyzing loan risk and requesting additional information as necessary.
  • Preparing reports on assessment findings.
  • Reviewing and specifying loan conditions as necessary.
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, guidelines and company policies.
  • Making loan eligibility decisions, approving, or rejecting applications.
  • Documenting and effectively communicating reasons for the approval or rejection of loans.
  • Assess risk for lending or insuring.
  • Review files for red flags for fraud.
  • Mentor and assist loan processors and loan officer assistants to further their knowledge and skills
Requirements:

Desired Qualifications:

  • DE and SAR certifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma or higher
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with FHA, VA, USDA, Conventional and non-QM products
  • The following interpersonal skills are helpful: Team player, motivated, responsible, dependable, able to communicate effectively and always having a positive attitude.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong sense of pride in your work and accomplishments.
  • Absolutely must have a positive attitude.
  • Advanced math calculations for determining income.
  • Advanced tax return review (personal and business returns) for determining income for self-employed borrowers or borrowers with rental income or loss.

  • Critical thinking skills
