AVPro Edge specializes in the manufacturing of full bandwidth audio-video distributions offering reliable cutting-edge products to our customers. Our team is growing, so we are offering a new opportunity for a Network Engineer.

The AV over IP Network Engineer is responsible for leading a team of technical support professionals in providing comprehensive support for Audio-Visual (AV) systems deployed over IP networks. Your role will involve overseeing the troubleshooting, configuration, maintenance, and monitoring of AV over IP solutions to ensure optimal performance and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, sales, and customer support, to resolve complex technical issues and provide guidance on AV network deployments.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Manage Technical Products:
    • Provide documentation and support for sales & marketing
    • Assign tasks, set performance goals, and provide feedback and coaching.
    • Conduct regular team meetings and training sessions.
  • AV over IP Network Support:
    • Provide technical guidance and expertise to resolve complex AV over IP network issues.
    • Troubleshoot and diagnose network-related problems, including video quality, latency, and synchronization.
    • Collaborate with customers, vendors, and internal teams to resolve escalated technical issues.
  • Customer Support:
    • Act as a primary point of contact for key customers, providing technical assistance and addressing their concerns.
    • Ensure timely and accurate resolution of customer issues to maintain high customer satisfaction.
    • Coordinate with sales teams to identify opportunities for upselling and expansion of AV over IP services.
  • Network Configuration and Optimization:
    • Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of AV over IP network infrastructure.
    • Optimize network settings and parameters to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to AV over IP systems.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, technical issues, and resolutions.
    • Generate reports on support activities, including ticket metrics, customer feedback, and team performance.
    • Contribute to the development of knowledge base articles, FAQs, and troubleshooting guides.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of IP networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, VLANs) and network troubleshooting tools.
  • Familiarity with AV over IP technologies, standards, and protocols (e.g., H.264, H.265, SDVoE, Dante, AVB).
  • Understanding of AV control systems and audiovisual equipment.
  • Experience in configuring and optimizing AV over IP network infrastructure.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to AV over IP systems.
  • Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team of technical support specialists.
  • Conflict resolution skills to handle challenging situations within the team.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on maintaining high customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills to diagnose and troubleshoot network-related issues.

Education and Experience:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field. Common fields of study include computer science, electrical engineering, information technology, or a related discipline. A higher-level degree such as a master's degree can be advantageous.
  • Experience: Previous experience in technical support or network engineering roles is highly desirable. Experience specifically in AV over IP or related fields is beneficial. Candidates with a solid background in IP networking, audiovisual systems, and network troubleshooting will be well-suited for this role.
  • Demonstrated experience in configuring, deploying, and maintaining AV over IP network infrastructure is essential. Familiarity with AV control systems and audiovisual equipment is also advantageous.
  • Leadership or management experience is highly valued, as this role involves overseeing a team of technical support professionals. Experience in leading a team, setting performance goals, and providing guidance and mentorship is beneficial.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills are crucial for identifying and resolving complex technical issues related to AV over IP systems. Candidates should be adept at troubleshooting network-related problems, optimizing network performance, and diagnosing audiovisual quality issues.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are necessary for interacting with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. The ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical individuals is important.
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in AV over IP systems is vital. Continuous learning and staying informed about the latest advancements in the field will contribute to success in this role.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Cisco CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate), AVIXA CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), or manufacturer-specific certifications from AV equipment providers are desired.

    Physical Requirements:

  • Mobility: While not a strict requirement, being mobile and able to move within an office or work environment comfortably can be beneficial. This may involve walking between different departments, attending meetings or conferences, and collaborating with team members.
  • Visual and Auditory Abilities: Having good vision and hearing is important as you may need to assess and evaluate audio and video systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide feedback on product performance. These abilities enable you to detect visual or auditory discrepancies, evaluate user interfaces, and make informed decisions.
  • Ergonomics: Working in an office environment typically involves spending extended periods at a desk or workstation. It's important to maintain good posture, use ergonomic furniture and equipment, and practice proper ergonomics to minimize the risk of strain or discomfort.
  • Travel: Depending on the company's requirements and the nature of the product, you may need to travel occasionally for meetings, industry events, or customer visits. This would involve the ability to travel by air, car, or other means of transportation.
