ABOUT US:

The Inova Ambulatory Surgery Center at Lorton stands as a comprehensive outpatient facility dedicated to delivering exceptional care. Situated conveniently near the intersection of Lorton Road, I-95, and Route 1, within the Inova Lorton HealthPlex, our surgery center holds licensing from the state of Virginia, certification from Medicare, and accreditation from AAAHC.

We specialize in providing cost-effective outpatient services, leveraging cutting-edge technology, all within a warm, compassionate environment. Our highly skilled and empathetic staff proudly serve Alexandria, the Route 1 corridor, and surrounding communities, ensuring every patient receives the utmost care and attention.


WORK SCHEDULE:

  • Monday-Friday, Day shift
  • Day shift only, no nights, weekends, call, or holidays

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Supervise all PreOp/PACU of care, ensuring the day-to-day operations are conducted in accordance with clinical practice standards and policies of the center
  • Ensure sufficient staffing daily, remain accessible to staff by providing breaks, ensuring coverage for meal breaks, late cases and staffing shortages
  • Supervise department personnel to ensure staff achieve their potential as members of an effective team
  • Interview, onboard, and train new staff members; monitor productivity and manage performance
  • Assess the staff's educational needs and implement a plan to meet these needs
  • Maintain an adequate inventory of drugs and medical supplies in the operating room and endoscopy suite areas
  • Maintain a collegial relationship with physicians and other ASC stakeholders to ensure quality patient care
  • Participate in and monitor quality improvement programs

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

  • A minimum of three (3) years progressive work experience in an outpatient surgery setting or in an acute care hospital, which reflects both clinical and management skills
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing institution, BSN or MSN preferred
  • Current RN licensure in Virginia
  • Current ACLS, BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Competence in oral and written communication skills
