We are hiring for Summer Camp Counselors

We are looking for Secondary Counselors (16-20 years old) for our Outdoor Youth Programs Spend your Summer months in the beautiful outdoors teaching campers the basics of mountain biking Richmond has a variety of trail to ride as well as surrounding parks. We spend time at Pocahontas State Park and Poor Farm Park practicing different riding techniques. Our main goal is to help campers build a positive relationship with the outdoors.

Applicants must work well in groups as well as be responsible, adaptive, and outgoing. Flexible hours, competitive pay, and a fun work environment The job duties include keeping campers safe in the outdoors, planning summer camp games, and helping to create a fun week

Preferred work experience: Experience that complements being a camp counselor such as: Camp Counselor, Raft Guide, Lifeguard, etc.

Helpful experience, but not required: Knowledge of fishing, mountain biking, rock climbing kayaking, canoeing, hiking, experience working or interacting with youth

Skills

  • Patient and reliable
  • Experience working with children
  • Familiarity with various outdoor activities
  • Energetic and positive personality
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (doing activities outside in the Summer)
  • First aid- and CPR-certified preferred for Secondary Counselors (if you don't have it, we will organize a CPR class)
