We are currently seeking a Material Handler to join our team

Starting pay for this position is $18.00 per hour, with pay increases based on hours worked as per the union contract. The hours for this position are 6:00am-2:30pm, plus overtime as needed.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual and automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product to prescribed quality and production standards and in accordance with ISO procedures. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:

  • Pulling and delivering orders
  • Ability for follow written and verbal instruction
  • Loading and unloading trucks and containers
  • Stocking inventory
  • Receiving purchase orders utilizing the warehouse management system
  • Verifying daily production of boots and scanning to a factory cart
  • Operation of stand-up reach forklift
  • Cycle counting
  • Able to have a flexible work schedule and work overtime as required
  • Responsible for operating equipment.
  • Assists in training co-workers as required
  • Works together with cross functional teams
  • Follows all safety rules and procedures
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area


OTHER FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned by warehouse supervisor or production management staff.


POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
  • Dependable with a good record of attendance
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Must be able to communicate in English
  • Practical PC experience
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs and walk and stand a minimum of 8 hours a day
  • Forklift Certification and Experience
  • Able to have a flexible work schedule and work overtime as required
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
  • Familiar with in and outbound shipping procedures

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential job duties satisfactorily.

  • The employee frequently is required to use arms, hands and fingers to handle, feel or reach
  • The sensory requirements for this position include vision, hearing, and touch
  • Frequently lifting, standing, bending and walking 8 hours a day on a concrete floor
  • Must be able to lift/pull 50 pounds with no restrictions

EDUCATION and or/ EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Basic English Skills are required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • 100% of work is spent in a factory and distribution setting


LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Valid Driver license
  • Forklift Certification or ability to become certified


TOOLS/EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Various lift trucks
  • Hand truck
  • Pallet jack
  • Carts
  • Computer: Microsoft Office, WMS
  • RF handheld equipment


PROTECTIVE CLOTHING REQUIRED:

  • Closed toe shoes
