Description:

Position Overview: As an Orthopedic X-Ray Tech, you will be responsible for performing X-ray imaging for orthopedic patients, with a focus on various types of X-ray exams required for diagnosing musculoskeletal conditions. You will work in an outpatient clinic setting, where you will provide high-quality imaging services for a diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform X-ray imaging for orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to abdomen, chest, head, lower extremity, spine, and upper extremity.
  • Operate Siemens X-ray equipment to produce diagnostic images.
  • Prepare and position patients for X-ray procedures, ensuring proper techniques and patient safety.
  • Follow radiation safety procedures and infection prevention protocols.
  • Document patient information and imaging results using the Epic (Excellian) electronic health record system.
  • Collaborate with orthopedic specialists to assist with patient care and imaging needs.
  • Ensure all X-ray equipment is maintained and calibrated for optimal performance.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of X-ray experience required; background in orthopedic imaging preferred.
  • Certifications:
    • ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - Radiography)
    • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • Skills:
    • Abdomen/GI X-Ray Experience: Abdomen Supine (KUB), Abdomen Upright
    • Chest and Thorax X-Ray Skills: Chest AP, Chest Routine, Upper Airway (Soft Tissue Neck)
    • Head X-Ray Experience: Facial Bones, Orbits, Paranasal Sinuses, Skull, Temporomandibular Joints
    • Lower Extremity X-Ray Skills: Ankle, Femur, Foot, Knee, Tibia-Fibula
    • Professional Knowledge: Infection Prevention, Isolation Precautions, Radiation Safety
    • Spine and Pelvis X-Ray Skills: Cervical Spine, Hip, Lumbar Spine, Pelvis, Sacrum/Coccyx, Thoracic Spine
    • Upper Extremity X-Ray Skills: Clavicle, Elbow, Forearm, Hand, Scapula, Shoulder, Trauma Shoulder or Humerus (Scapular Y, Transthoracic Axial), Wrist
