Under limited supervision, this position installs, maintains, repairs and replaces computer hardware, software, and telephone systems. Performs related technical work as required in order to resolve issues. Work with HTC to maintain a secure, available network infrastructure to support the needs of employees and customers. Maintains all cell phones and smart devices throughout the City. Maintains the wireless and fiber infrastructure. Reports to the Network Administrator

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Assists Network Administrator and HTC in maintaining a stable network and server environment.
• Troubleshoots and resolves computer problems; upgrades, repairs and/or replaces software and hardware systems as necessary.
• Installs personal computer hardware, software, peripherals, telephone and communication equipment systems.
• Maintains user accounts, emails, file sharing and network printing functions.
• Maintains CISCO IP Telephony system (call manager, Unity).
• Provides training, support and assistance for users of computer hardware, software and telephone equipment.
• Assists in maintaining and making recommendations for the implementation of new information and communication technologies.
• Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Assists with installation of computer cable/wiring and telephone wiring for new buildings and additions to City buildings.
• Assists with implementation of emergency procedures in the event of power failures or major system/network failure. • Maintains and resolves issues with smart phones and tablets.
• Assists with special projects.
• Attends training as required to maintain job knowledge and skills.
• Maintains accurate and complete work records.
• Receives and disposes of all telecommunication equipment.
• Maintains audio equipment for recording Council meetings.
• Develops and maintains operating procedures for various systems.
• Maintains and updates current news on the website.
• Contacts vendors on new products and services that would benefit the company.
• Receives and/or reviews various records and reports including computer/server log files, vendor product documentation, network/server documentation, hardware and software licenses and maintenance and support agreements.
• Prepares and/or generates a variety of documents including software report, network diagram, report and telecommunication equipment report.
• Utilizes a variety of computer software to include Citrix XenCenter, MS Windows Server, Trend Micro, Office 365 and MS Windows 7.
• Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the Finance Director, Department heads, employees, vendors and salesmen.


ESSENTIAL SAFETY FUNCTIONS

It is the responsibility of each employee to comply with established policies, procedures and safe work practices. Finally, each employee must immediately report any unsafe work practices or unsafe conditions as well as any on-the-job injury or illnesses.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Serves on the website committee to upgrade the site.

Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

Recommends a Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree supplemented by a minimum of three to four years of experience in the Computer Technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities. Must possess a valid driver's license.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of automated office machines and equipment. Must be able to exert force to lift, reach or otherwise move objects. Work involves sitting, walking or standing for periods of time. Must be able to lift/carry weights of up to 20-40 pounds.
