Medical Front Desk Receptionist Fresno, CA

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Medical Front Desk Receptionist to join our medical team full time in Fresno, CA. Ideally, we are looking for an energetic, punctual, responsible, and hard-working person. The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for supporting the effective operation of the clinic and the acquisition and retention of patients by communicating with all potential patients who contact the clinic. In this role, you will be highly patient facing and require a high level of organization and ability to multitask. You will be welcoming patients into the office, collecting payments, filing paperwork, and creating a remarkable experience.
Essential Position Responsibilities:
- Schedule new patients and follow up appointments
- Prepare waiting room and facilities for patient arrival and end of day to set the next day up for success.
- Greet and manage new patient intake which includes creating a comfortable environment, check-in, paperwork completion and verification, collecting all payment and scanning and updating patient information (insurance, ID, etc.)
- Make appointments for patients; confirms future patient appointments, assist in rescheduling patients as necessary
- Answer calls within prescribed time and always maintains professional, effective and polite communication. Answer incoming calls and make cold calls while taking notes or messages
- Appropriately route calls, takes complete messages.
- File and pull charts as necessary, Maintain charts in an orderly fashion and ensure accuracy.
- Enters data in the computer system to update patients’ information.
- Ensure all patients are appropriately processed at the end of treatment
- Fosters an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among all staff
- Attend meetings as required
- Educate the patient on the services provided in the clinic
- Consistently offer the highest level of personalized customer service while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic and helpful attitude
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and confidentiality practices, Microsoft Office (word and excel), and Google Docs
- Punctuality and excellent attendance required.
- Type 35 wpm or better
- Professional demeanor, positive manor, and appearance is a must.
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Prior work experience in Community Clinic or Doctor’s office preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2-3 years work experience in reception, sales, customer service or related field preferred
- Experience in a multi-physician practice preferred
- Full time Mon – Fri (office hours end at 1 on Fridays)
Salary:
- $16-$18/hr Possible weekly BONUSES in addition to hourly base
