Admissions Coordinator

Reports To: Associate Director, Enrollment Management

Department: Admission, Marketing and Communication

Position Status: Full Time

Exemption Status: Non-Exempt

Classification: Support/Administrative

JOB SUMMARY

Under the general direction of the designated supervisor, performs duties related to the admission of students, in accordance with Academy and Department policies.

CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as a resource to prospective students, parents, and the community regarding the school and the admission process.

  • Interprets admissions policies and procedures and responds to general questions about campus life, academic programs, and the admission process and requirements.

  • Prepares for and executes student shadow days.

  • Works collaboratively with the marketing and communication teams.

  • Works with the team to coordinate appropriate follow-up with prospective families - phone calls, emails, connecting appropriate faculty and coaches, etc.

  • Keeps track of applicants throughout the admissions process.

  • Schedules and assigns tours with prospective families.

  • Assists the Associate Director in planning and preparing for admission events.

  • Communicates daily with faculty and current students regarding shadows, hosts and schedules.

  • Drives development of parent ambassador program for school.

  • Well-versed in all aspects of Gilmour Academy - including mission, curriculum, programming, athletics, etc.

  • Performs related duties as required.

MINIMUM ACCEPTABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Experience in some area of student affairs or prior Admissions experience - preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to make independent judgments and work under pressure.

  • Must have strong organizational skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Ability and willingness to travel and work irregular and flexible hours.

  • Familiarity with online computer systems
