ROLE SUMMARY

The Corporate Senior Accountant will perform varied accounting functions to include assisting with preparation of monthly financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, Sarbanes Oxley controls, and established company policies, preparation of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, prepare and process journal entries, and perform ad-hoc accounting projects as requested by management. The role requires excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles.


ROLE DESCRIPTION

  • Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, audit schedules, and fluctuation analyses with attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile balance sheet accounts to ensure accuracy.
  • Prepare Audit PBC’s with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Support the monthly, quarterly, and annual close for various accounts.
  • Assist with the maintenance of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement best practices to streamline accounting processes and SOX compliance.
  • Conduct variance analyses and provide observations, potential errors, and opportunities for additional follow up.
  • Support external audit processes and functions by coordinateing with auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Ensure compliance with Sarbanes Oxley controls in areas of responsibility as well as perform Financial Controls assigned to the role.
  • Organize, prioritize and complete several tasks simultaneously with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Consistent and prompt attendance.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned and required of the business.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Education Requirement: Bachelor Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA/CPA Candidate preferred.
  • Minimum of five to seven years of job-related experience preferred.
  • Accounting and associated GL Account reconciliations experience required.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with Sarbanes Oxley requirements.
  • Experience with accounting systems, databases, and reporting tools. NetSuite familiarity a plus.
  • Experienced in Microsoft Office with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, strong attention to detail, organized.
  • Technical accounting experience is a plus.
  • Flexible, uses critical thinking skills to present solutions and open to learning new ideas and skills.
