Job Title: Assistant Manager (Must Have Dog Care Experience)

Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Manager with a strong background in dog care. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supervising and providing excellent care for our canine guests, ensuring their safety, health, and happiness. This position requires a deep understanding of dog behavior, extensive experience in managing a team, and the ability to maintain a high standard of customer service and professional communication.

Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Manager in overseeing daily operations of the facility to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of all dog care services.
2. Supervise a team of dog handlers, providing clear instructions, coaching, and ongoing training to maintain high-quality standards of care.
3. Evaluate and monitor the behavior and well-being of dogs to guarantee a safe and engaging environment, intervening when necessary to prevent conflicts or other issues.
4. Maintain accurate records of dog care tasks, including feeding schedules, medication administration, and any special instructions from owners, to ensure the individual needs of each dog are met.
5. Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, interacting with clients to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide recommendations based on their dog’s specific needs.
6. Collaborate with the Manager in implementing and improving dog care protocols, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
7. Take charge of canine socialization activities, engaging dogs in enrichment exercises, playtime, and appropriate group interactions to promote positive behavior and social skills.
8. Administer basic grooming duties, such as bathing, brushing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning, based on individual dog requirements.
9. Assist in managing inventory, including food, treats, toys, cleaning supplies, and other dog-related products, ensuring availability and restocking as needed.
10. Stay up-to-date on current trends and advancements in dog care, attending workshops, seminars, and training sessions to enhance knowledge and skills.

Requirements:
1. A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role, with proven expertise in dog care and handling.
2. Exceptional knowledge of dog behavior, body language, and health.
3. Proven ability to manage and lead a team, providing coaching and training to ensure high-quality standards of care.
4. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, team members, and other stakeholders.
5. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
6. Ability to handle dogs of varying breeds, sizes, and temperaments, including those with special needs or medical conditions.
7. Proficiency in basic grooming tasks, including bathing, nail trimming, and ear cleaning.
8. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and irregular shifts, as the nature of the job requires.
9. Must be physically fit and able to lift/move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and engage in physical activities with dogs.
10. High school diploma or equivalent qualification; additional certifications or vocational training in dog care and training are a plus.
