Senior Accountant

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the company. This position requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.

2. Month-End Close: Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the finance team to develop and monitor budgets, as well as create financial forecasts. Provide recommendations for cost reductions and revenue enhancement.

4. Audit Preparation: Coordinate and support internal and external audits, ensuring all necessary documentation and schedules are ready for audit review.

5. General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and resolve discrepancies as needed.

6. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing.

7. Variance Analysis: Analyze financial data and variances, providing insights and recommendations to management for decision-making.

8. Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and submission of various tax returns, including income tax, sales tax, 1099s, and payroll tax, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

9. Financial Systems: Utilize financial software and tools to manage and streamline financial processes.

10. Financial Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy.

11. Team Leadership: Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to junior accounting staff, fostering their professional development.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA certification preferred).

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record of progressively responsible roles.

· Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.

· Proficiency in Quickbook and Microsoft Excel.

· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

· Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
