Position Overview:

AnyPlace Audiology is seeking experienced Traveling Audiologists to join our team. In this role, you will travel 100% of the time to provide high-quality audiological care to VA patients experiencing hearing issues, disabilities, injuries, and other conditions affecting hearing. You will work with a diverse patient population.

Your Role at AnyPlace Audiology

As an Audiologist with AnyPlace Audiology, you will apply the principles of hearing science and audiology to formulate an Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) or conduct independent medical examinations for a unique claimant population of past and present military service members. Your role will involve providing a professional assessment of the severity of hearing issues, diagnosing conditions, determining causation, and evaluating the likelihood that these hearing problems are related to military service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administer and Interpret Audiological Tests: Conduct a variety of tests to determine the type and degree of hearing impairment, including air and bone conduction, speech reception, and speech discrimination tests. Identify the site of damage and its effects on comprehension and speech.
  • Evaluate Test Results: Analyze test results in relation to behavioral, social, and educational factors. Review medical records, past audiograms, and related documents to determine the likely cause of hearing loss, provide a prognosis, and address issues related to hearing loss and tinnitus.
  • Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR): Operate computerized programs and application software to enter, modify, and access information in electronic medical records. Use standardized report-writing formats to document findings.
  • Maintain Patient Confidentiality: Ensure the confidentiality of all written and verbal patient information in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Conduct Audiological Procedures: Perform otoscopic examinations, cerumen management, and calibration checks of audiometric equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Lead Staff Training: Provide training to paraprofessional staff on audiology-specific skills and certifications required for all lines of business (LOB).
  • Complete Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs): Accurately complete Veterans Benefits Administration Disability Benefit Questionnaires (DBQs) as part of the assessment and reporting process.
  • Travel Requirements: Be willing and able to travel to conduct audiology examinations for clients across multiple locations nationwide.

  • Knowledge of Health and Safety Standards: Understands workplace health and safety principles, including compliance with OSHA regulations.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.): A Doctorate Degree in Audiology from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Clinical Practice Experience: A minimum of 3 years of experience in a clinical practice setting.
  • Relevant Professional Experience: Experience working with Compensation and Pension Examinations, hearing conservation programs, and/or noise conservation programs is preferred but not required. A strong interest in these areas is also considered valuable.
