Job Summary

It is the job of the Technical Team Supervisor to meet or exceed Kreher quality standards by overseeing the in-house maintenance tech team. This position is directly responsible for the development, implementation, and operations of the electrical power and control, HVAC and refrigeration, and various plumbing and pumping systems. It requires a good understanding of these systems and how they relate to each other as well as other components of the operation as a whole. The Technical Team Supervisor is also responsible for the oversight of, and provides requirements for, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing contractors.


Job Responsibilities

The main objective of the Technical Team Supervisor’s work is to:

  • Support the activities of the Technical Team within all construction and maintenance activities
  • Understands role in servicing the customer through efficiency and quality in installing and repairing electrical components
  • Continually develops knowledge of fixing, installing and maintaining electrical components for the egg farm
  • Works independently, where appropriate, in the electrical installation, repair and preventive maintenance of production equipment
  • Keeps informed of mechanical and plumbing systems as they relate to electrical / electronic components
  • Completes work orders following proper Egg Farm standards to include dates, times, thorough explanations, people involved, problem resolution, etc., and submits to technical manager
  • Looks for opportunities to eliminate re-work, waste, etc., and informs management of potential hazards
  • Continuously learns and applies new methods and technologies
  • Shows flexibility; cross trains within the electrical department, moves to different areas, etc. as needed
  • Looks for opportunities to improve safety, prevent accidents, and help make the Egg Farm a safe place to work
  • Performs other duties as requested


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

An individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Knowledgeable with HVAC, various electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical system and how they interact with each other
  • Experienced with PLC programming
  • Able to trouble shoot and replace, and program VFDs
  • Extensive experience troubleshooting and repairing of the following electrical circuits:
    1. 120/208 single and 3 phase power circuits
    2. 480/ 277 single and 3 phase power circuits
    3. Control circuits of various voltages
  • Has to have experience with or be willing to learn plumbing
  • Understands the difference between and able to work with digital and analog circuits
  • Experienced with managing the performance of a team as well as individual team members
  • Highly effective interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Will be required to work overtime as needed
  • A ‘can do’, positive attitude

Education and Experience

  • Associates Degree in Electric Technology or equivalent training and experience
  • Computer literate
  • Able to work with various data networks such as Ethernet. Modbus, Modbus plus and Modbus TCP
  • Manages and takes part in an active rotating “on call” program where you will be able to get to the farm within 15 minutes.
