Job DescriptionJob Description

The Medical Technologist is responsible for performing and analyzing the results of the complex scientific tests.

Essential Functions

  1. Prepping urine and blood specimens for toxicology testing
  2. Aliquoting patient samples for various procedures to test for the presence or quantity of therapeutic drugs and drugs of abuse
  3. Screening patient samples on the Olympus/AU 700 analyzer
  4. Monitoring quality control measures and protocols
  5. Preparing calibrators, QC, IS, Mastermix, etc.
  6. If licensed as an MT, reviewing LCMS Data and experience with LCMS
  7. Maintaining laboratory equipment
  8. Maintaining laboratory logs

Qualifications, Knowledge and Competencies

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Certification by ASCP, AMT, or AAB, Medical Technologist License (or Medical Laboratory Technician) in State of Florida and laboratory experience.

Knowledge: Apollo LIMS, Olympus

Competencies: Technical Capacity, Decision Making, Problem Solving/Analysis, Results Driven, Pipetting

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days of work are Monday through Friday, and hours specified by the manager.
