Your role in the mission:

Type One Energy is seeking a Senior Procurement Supply Chain Manager to oversee and manage the company’s supply chain and procurement operations. Reporting into the VP Global Partnerships and Supply Chain, you will be responsible for the managing the procurement process of our stellarator technologies while also managing vendor relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods.

The successful candidate will develop and implement strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and manage risk within the supply chain of our fusion technologies.

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials, supplies, and services.
  • Manage the entire procurement process, including sourcing, purchasing, and contract negotiation.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key suppliers to secure the best possible pricing and service.
  • Oversee the supply chain process from raw materials to delivery of finished goods.
  • Collaborate with the finance department to forecast demand and plan inventory levels.
  • Monitor supply chain performance and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Maintain a supplier database, including contract details, performance records, and other relevant information.
  • Manage and monitor vendor relationships to ensure continuous improvement in performance and capabilities.
  • Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and company standards in all procurement and supply chain activities.
  • Monitor market trends and conditions to anticipate potential challenges in the supply chain.
  • Prepare and manage the procurement budget, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Track and report on procurement and supply chain costs and savings.
  • Manage ERP functionality that drives productivity improvements and permits expansion for additional module deployment.

What you’ll need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in procurement and supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in vendor management and contract negotiation.
  • Experience with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in a startup environment is preferable.
