Distribution Shipping Clerk works closely with the shipping supervisor to ensure all daily shipping orders are processed and shipped correctly. This position requires full time clerical work and daily warehouse duties as required. 
Key Responsibilities•   Review shipping list and pick orders as required to fulfill daily demand•      Manage pick slips and direct to the correct shipping method.•      Will ensure pick slip mode of transportation is selected correctly and all shipping notes are adhered to.•      Handles incoming calls, both external and internal and directs accordingly.•      Prints and executes Performa’s, commercial invoices, BOL’s, packing slips, etc. as required.•      Review parts report and orders as needed to maintain correct stocking levels.•      Follows standard operating procedures.•      Transact inventory movements using inventory control system.•      Fill independent demands for material requisitions.•      Ensure FIFO is followed for all transactions.•      Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.•      Keeps area safe, clean and organized.•      Works with Customer Service and Supply Chain on backorder issues, order errors, clarification of shipping notes, etc. •      Perform domestic and international shipping activities.•      Performs other related duties as required or assigned.•      Responsible for general housekeeping duties in the shipping office area as assigned by the shipping supervisor.•      Other duties as deemed necessary by the Shipping Supervisor or Distribution Manager. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES•      None. 
Skills Knowledge and Expertise•      Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion with business information.•      Utilizes common-sense understanding in order to carry out written, oral, or diagrammed instructions.•      Plans the time, method, manner, and/or performance sequence of own work.•      Completes some moderately repetitive tasks.•      Interprets a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats.•      Reads and understands documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Education and Experience•      High School Diploma or Equivalent (required.)•      Prefer 2 + years shipping or receiving experience within a warehouse environment. •      Computer experience required. •      Experience with JDE/E1 preferred.•      Previous experience of a scan gun barcode reader is a plus.•      Knowledge of Excel, Outlook, and Word strongly recommended.
