Summary:

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager of this Marlborough branch location organizes, coordinates and directs the ongoing activities of the assigned branch to meet sales quotas and to provide for the optimal delivery of member services in conformance with established Credit Union policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities:

Performs any functions, within scope of authority and expertise, to provide the highest level of service and responsiveness to the members served by the Credit Union.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provides supervision over the day-to-day operations of the retail branch location.
  2. Contributes to a positive work environment and SMCU image by maintaining courteous, respectful and effective interaction, teamwork and communication with employees and members to enhance positive behaviors and employee satisfaction.
  3. Responsible for meeting or exceeding assigned sales and service goals.
  4. Provides a superior member experience by actively listening and assessing the needs of the member and offering targeted solutions to these needs. Actively cross sells and provides product guidance to members.
  5. Serves as a mentor and leader to all retail branch employees by contributing to the employee morale and exhibiting a positive attitude to build high employee satisfaction.
  6. Adheres to and keeps current of compliance standards and procedures. Conducts audit reporting.
  7. Assists in coordinating staffing and ensuring proper branch coverage at all times.
  8. Consistently ensure all quarterly and annual goal setting and performance reviews are completed on schedule. Identifies employee coaching opportunities and provides feedback sessions as needed.
  9. Ensures proper upkeep of assigned branch and equipment, ensuring routine maintenance of operational equipment and systems. Makes certain that branch facility is maintained in a neat, attractive and functionally efficient manner.
  10. Interviews and completes loan applications for Credit Union consumer and mortgage loans. Closes approved loans according to proper procedures.
  11. Acts in the capacity of the Branch Manager or Member Service Manager during temporary absences, as required.
  12. Keeps current knowledge of Credit Union policies and procedures, products and services. Keeps informed of developments within the banking industry and regulatory environment relative to retail products and services. Attends meetings and seminars as needed.

Other Functions:

  1. Performs related member services, managerial and administrative functions as may be required to ensure the ongoing effectiveness of the assigned branch.

time to time, other duties both related and unrelated to the above may be assigned and therefore

required.

Supervisory Scope:

Up to five direct reports and ten indirect reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be eligible to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) and must maintain registration with NMLS as a registered Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO). Education and/or Experience:

Associate's degree or its equivalent plus specialized coursework and training. Three to five years of experience as a senior member service representative with proven supervisory, customer service, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to utilize various types of office equipment, including computer terminal.

Work Environment:

Usual office working conditions with absence of most disagreeable conditions and with occasional exposure to noise.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this position, the individual is required to use hands, handle and feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The individual frequently is required to stand, walk and sit. The individual is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch and lift up to fifteen pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
