Position: DB2 DBA Engineer

Location: Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin (100% Onsite)

Duration of Project: 12 Months Contract

SUMMARY:

Responsible for the architecture, development, and maintenance of Database solutions by performing the following duties.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design complex databases, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and other database objects.

Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) solutions.

Work closely with application development project teams to ensure optimal application performance.

Optimize database performance through a number of techniques including but not limited to: indexing, query optimization, database design.

Participate in periodic High Availability / Disaster Recovery tests of critical systems.

Proactively monitor database performance, capacity planning and resource consumption.

Provide day to day support for databases and database applications.

Upgrade and patch DBMS's.

Ensure databases and database objects are backed up according to business requirements, and recovery procedures are tested and documented.

Perform other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the activities enumerated above.

Works under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.

8 plus years of experience in Database Management / Data Integration.

Proficient in multiple Database Management Systems (e.g., DB2i, DB2 LUW, DataStax, Oracle, SQL Server).

Proficient in multiple data replication technologies (e.g., DTShare, CDC, SQL Replication, Attunity)

Ability to read a Logical Data Model a plus.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Detail oriented. Can juggle multiple priorities.

Strong analytical, problem-solving ability.

Ability to lead and coach less experienced Database Administration staff.

Comfortable presenting strategies and solutions to IT Leadership.

May require travel to branch and international locations.

Regular and reliable attendance

Certifications are a plus.
