Position Overview: Excelsior Defense is seeking a highly experienced Lead Security Officer to oversee our guard force and locations involving significant operational hours. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in security guard management, with a focus on supervising a large team and handling contracts with extensive operational demands using logical approaches in coordination with our Site Manager/Cpt.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead a team of security guards, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance, training, and support to security personnel to enhance their performance and professional development.
  • Conduct regular patrols and inspections to maintain a secure environment for clients and their assets.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with contractual obligations, including operational hours and service level agreements.
  • Coordinate scheduling, staffing assignments, and resource allocation to meet client requirements effectively.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and alarms, implementing appropriate protocols and procedures.
  • Provide immediate coverage to any open post while on duty.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4+ years of experience in security guard management, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing a guard force consisting of 100+ officers.
  • Proven track record in managing contracts with operational hours exceeding 10,000 hours per month.
  • Strong knowledge of security principles, practices, and industry standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions under pressure and effectively resolve conflicts.
  • Proficiency in using security technology and systems.
  • Valid security guard license with the State of TN.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License, with minimal or no driving infractions within the last 5 years.
  • Provide a drug screening & Background Check as a condition of employment.
