Job Description Summary:

This posting is for a 3rd shift Quality Technician. As a Quality Technician in our automotive manufacturing facility, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of quality control and assurance throughout our production processes. Your responsibilities will include inspecting, testing, and evaluating products to identify defects or deviations from specifications, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining accurate records of quality metrics. You will collaborate closely with production teams to resolve quality issues promptly and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections of automotive components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
  • Perform detailed measurements, tests, and visual inspections using precision tools and equipment.
  • Identify and document non-conformities, defects, and deviations from quality standards, and initiate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to investigate quality issues, and root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Maintain accurate records of inspection results, quality metrics, and documentation of quality processes.
  • Participate in quality audits, including internal audits and customer audits, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and customer specifications.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures, work instructions, and inspection criteria.
  • Provide training and guidance to production operators on quality standards, inspection techniques, and quality control processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, reduce defects, and optimize manufacturing processes.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, quality standards, and company policies and procedures at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or technical certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a quality technician in automotive manufacturing or a related industry.
  • Proficiency in performing inspections, measurements, and tests using precision tools and equipment.
  • Strong understanding of quality control principles, methodologies, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality standards and regulations (e.g., ISO/TS 16949, IATF 16949) preferred.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work 5p to 4a Monday through Friday and 3p to 11:15p Saturdays.
