From day one, the Operational Data Visualization Analyst will have an immediate impact on our ability to standardize our measurement systems, understand company performance, and continuously improve.This position is part of our Business Operations Center of Excellence (COE), designed to instill operational excellence company-wide and responsible for using continuous improvement methods like Lean Six Sigma to increase productivity, service level, cost performance, and other key results for cross-functional value streams.The position will be directly involved in the largest and most important data transformation efforts at the company.The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a data / business analytics role.


Objectives of this role

Overall, this role will help to standardize andimplement the parts of the company business performance management system that deal with data access and accuracy, metric visibility, and performance visibility. Objectives include:

  • Develop and model the metrics that help explain performance at various levels of the company
  • Standardize data / measurement system visualization and response company-wide
  • Measure critical financial and KPI performance for the company in accessible dashboards
  • Upskill and mentor the company on how to leverage data to problem-solve and to stabilize processes
  • Provide data insights needed to drive high-priority cross-functional process improvement projects
  • Support the improvement of company data systems so that the above objectives can be achieved

Responsibilities

  • As a Center of Excellence (CoE), provide the organization with evidence-based practices around measuring, visualizing, and responding to process performance. This will involve:
  • Creating data templates, standards, and training materials that can be shared
  • Codifying best practices into the companys operational maturity program
  • Developing and refining dashboards according to the standards set by this CoE
  • Transforming current manual reporting processes into scalable automated processes
  • As an internal consultant, help the company to:
  • Measure the success of processes and initiatives
  • Develop, model, and measure key process / product / performance metrics
  • Apply evidence-based process control / stabilization practices (statistical process control)
  • Analyze data and draw appropriate insights that can be actioned upon
  • Leverage data to find and address root causes
  • Find and implement data solutions
  • Investigate and resolve data pipeline / quality issues
  • Build a culture of continuous improvement
  • As a mentor, upskill the company on data-based problem-solving and statistical process control through formal training, formal and informal coaching, and office hours
  • As a skilled problem-solver, execute top-priority cross-functional data system improvement projects, and ensure sustainability through good change management and effective transition to process owners
  • As a systems thinker, determine and support implementation of the right structure for company-wide data / measurement and KPI systems, to ensure they are set up to enable operational excellence
  • As a change manager, effectively activate the company around key continuous improvement tools and principles, ensuring every user understands their value and sustainably adopts their practice


Required qualifications

  • 3 to 8 years in a Data Analyst and/or Business Analytics role
  • Must be US Based
  • Must have excellent experience with data visualization
  • Experience in investigating data quality and access issues
  • Experience analyzing raw data, finding issues and explaining to stakeholder
  • Must have excellent experience reporting findings to stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Excellent experience to take complex ideas and communicate them simply to others; communicate complex ideas simply
  • Previour experience with team collaboration, as well as stakeholder engagement / collaboration
  • Must have experience building and setting up KPI dashboards
  • Requires excellent Presentation experience and skill
  • Strong Looker (BI) skills and knowledge, with demonstrated experience using the tool
  • Requires SQL skills
  • Proficiency in Jira or other project management software tools related to agile frameworks
  • Proficient with google suite (gmail, drive, calendar, docs, sheets, slides)
  • Bonus: Knowledge of statistical process/quality control (SPC / SQC) including control charts
  • Bonus:Black Belt or other lean six sigma (LSS) certification
  • Bonus:experience with implementing and using lean-based management systems
  • Strong understanding of business operations
