Evergreen Health - Part Time Position

The Law Clerk will work under the supervision of the Assistant Counsel and the General Counsel to (1) support the legal contract management process by reviewing and uploading contracts and contract data and assisting in contract life cycle management, (2) perform legal research and writing on a variety of topics, such as state and federal health care law, housing and landlord/tenant law, labor and employment, and not for profit and corporate law, and (3) perform various other administrative tasks related to contracting, policy review, and a broad range of other legal supportive work, as assigned. The Law Clerk may interface with management, support staff, and outside counsel as needed.

As part of the essential functions of this role, the Law Clerk:

- Performs contract support work and assists with a broad range of other assigned administrative matters as described above and as determined by the Assistant Counsel or General Counsel.

Qualified Candidate will have a Bachelor's degree. Candidate will have demonstrated excellent grammar and writing skills with keen attention to detail and issue spotting. Candidate will have the ability to concisely and effectively communicate complex matters in oral and written form. Must have familiarity with MS Office Software (Outlook, Word, Excel). Candidate will have excellent time management skills, problem solving and organizational skills. Sensitivity toward cultural diversity, people living with HIV/AIDS and lifestyle and addiction issues essential.

Job Type: Part-Time (12-16 hours per week)

Required education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, and be a second or third-year law student at an ABA accredited law school

Preferred experience:

  • Demonstrated interest in Health Law
  • Experience working in a corporate legal office or law firm
  • Experience with review and management of contracts
  • Ability to handle a wide variety of legal matters
