The Cost Accountant is responsible for monitoring and analyzing the cost of production processes within the manufacturing facility. Setting up and maintaining the BOM and routings for manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop and maintain in the cost accounting system for products.
· Update and maintain part numbers, routings, and BOM’s.
· Update and revise costs as needed, considering changes in production processes and material costs.
· Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
· Utilize and maintain the ERP system to track and report manufacturing costs.
· Establish and maintain effective internal controls related to manufacturing costs.
· Perform variance analysis to understand the differences between actual and budgeted/forecasted costs.
· Oversee the valuation and reconciliation of inventory accounts.
· Provide input and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
· Assists in physical inventory and cycle count valuation processes.
· Assist with annual audit preparations.
Requirements:Qualifications:
· Associate degree in Accounting required. Bachelor’s degree highly preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, cost analysis.
- Strong proficiency in ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.
