Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist
Location: Austell, GA

Shift Info:

  • Shift: Day
  • Shifts per week: 5
  • Hours per shift: 8
  • Shift hours: Monday - Friday, 6:45 am - 3:15 pm, with call

Job Summary:

The Surgical Technologist functions under the direction of the registered professional nurse. Assists the healthcare team in providing safe, age-appropriate, and culturally aware patient care. The technologist possesses the knowledge, skill, and ability to perform duties within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases (with occasional work above this level as required). The role involves understanding the scope of anatomy, equipment, and instrumentation related to each case, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team. The Surgical Technologist Certified exhibits an acquisition of additional surgical skills for progressively more difficult cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in providing safe and effective surgical care under the direction of the registered professional nurse.
  • Perform duties within the context of moderate to high acuity surgical cases, with occasional work on more complex cases.
  • Understand and anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other members of the healthcare team.
  • Maintain knowledge, skill, and ability in the use of anatomy, equipment, and instrumentation relevant to surgical cases.
  • Exhibit and acquire additional surgical skills for progressively more difficult cases.
  • Ensure patient care is culturally aware and age-appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • Certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Knowledge and skills to assist in moderate to high acuity surgical cases.
  • Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide appropriate support.
  • Commitment to ongoing acquisition of additional surgical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work within a diverse and dynamic healthcare environment.
