Derrevere Stevens Black & Cozad has an exciting opportunity to join their First Party/Third Party Practice Group as a Paralegal. This position can be in office, hybrid or 100% work-from-home and will utilize cutting-edge legal technology. The successful candidate will be asked to assist in all phases of the litigation process and have the following experience and skills:
- Minimum of 10 years litigation experience in a law office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of managing deadlines, and can take initiative on following up on tasks.
- Competent and proficient in Microsoft Work, Excel, and Adobe
- Prior experience in transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying and transmitting documents, and coordinating case preparation
- Prior experience in drafting legal documents including standardized pleadings, letters, and reports
- Maintaining attorney calendars by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences and court hearings, recording and monitoring court appearance dates, pleadings, and filing requirements
- Working knowledge of Florida court procedures and eService
- Proficient in e-filing, scheduling couriers, court reporters, expert witnesses, and other special functions
- Maintaining litigation files in a computer-based filing index.
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced evolving environment and be a team player
