Athletic Trainer

NMC Health is looking for an Athletic Trainer for our Orthopedic & Sports Specialists Clinic. In this role, you will perform general athletic training services and fulfill external Athletic Trainer contracts. Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's and/or Masters degree in athletic training
  
• Valid Athletic Trainer License that is in good standing with the Kansas Board of Healing Arts required
• BOC Certification required
  

Knowledge and Skills:

• Evaluate athlete's readiness to play and provide participation clearances when necessary and warranted.
• Care for athletic injuries, using approved physical therapy equipment or techniques.
• Conduct an initial assessment of an athlete's injury or illness to provide emergency or continued care and to determine whether they should be referred to physicians for definitive diagnosis.
• Assess the progress of recovering athletes to coaches or physicians.
• Perform general administrative tasks, such as keeping records or writing reports.
• Responsible for following all HIPPA regulations and guidelines.
• Responsible for following all OSHA guidelines when handling blood or body fluids.
• Documentation of referral into the Orthopedics Clinic
• Initiate relationships and contracts as appropriate with local high schools and colleges

Required:

• Certified by the National Athletic Trainer's Association Board of Certification
• Licensed by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts
