Drywall Foreman

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMcCarthy Building Companies is looking for a self-motivated Drywall Foreman to work within our healthcare and higher education groups in San Diego. The Drywall Foreman supports the completion of projects by working closely with the drywall framers and hangers, assistant project superintendents, and project superintendents. The ideal candidate has a strong background in drywall work and can manage and communicate job expectations to crews.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES· Coordinate and execute drywall activities· Read and interpret detailed blueprints (notes, sections, etc.)· Perform materials calculations· Plan day to day activities· Assist with creation of look ahead schedules and work plans· Time keeping and reporting of labor force hours· Identify issues and provide solutions· Train and mentor new hires· Coordinate work with other trades· Efficiently communicates job expectations to drywall crews· Complete McCarthy EEO policies training· Complete McCarthy Foreman Development courses

QUALIFICATIONS· 5+ years of experience managing drywall crews on large commercial projects· Flexible—can throw tool bags on as needed· Understanding of construction technologies· Proven commitment to Safety· Work in an organized manner· Able to work night shifts when needed· Must be self-motivated and can work well with others; desire to learn and expand knowledge· Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written· Ability to adapt and function productively in a team dynamic· Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency· Ability to perform heavy lifting/pushing/pulling of material weighing 50 pounds· Ability to squat, crawl, and work in confined spaces· Minimum age 18+· Proof of Identity and Employment AuthorizationThe pay rate for this role in California is $30 - $60 per hour.  The base pay actually offered follows the minimum wage from the pay scale agreed upon in the applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement and may also vary depending on the candidate’s work location, experience, and skills.
