Position Purpose

The Pharmacy Technician works closely with the Pharmacy Manager and patients to ensure they receive the best care possible through accurate dispensing of medications. The Pharmacy Technician handles various pharmacy tasks, making every day exciting and rewarding

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates and executes new and refill prescription orders and appropriate substitutions, according to formulary.
  • Operates WinPharm pharmacy software and systems to label and provide medication to patients.
  • Adjudicates insurance claims.
  • Conducts point-of-sale operation.
  • Demonstrates inventory awareness and management.
  • Masters prior authorization management and resolution.
  • Handles customer service cases successfully.
  • Provides answers to patients’ questions about medications, the practice, etc.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned.

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Professional Certification (DD provides reimbursement):

  • Illinois Pharmacy Technician License required within 30 days of hire date, if not already obtained
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification required within 150 days of hire date, if not already obtained

Additional Notes

  • Ability to travel to other locations in the zone as needed.
  • Schedule consists of 3 days of 12-hour shifts/week from 6:45AM-7:15PM and 1 Saturday/month from 6:45AM-12:30PM
