Job DescriptionJob Description

MMI Engineered Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Auditor for our (Third Shift 10:45 PM - 7:15 AM Sunday - Thursday) Warren, Michigan facility. Our ideal candidate will have proven experience in performing dimensional checks on parts manufactured using fixture gage, calipers, and gage of records during production runs.


Essential Duties:

  • Maintain First Article part/s and VAS board/s (Visual Acceptance Standard)
  • Maintain Process books (with support from Engineering for Packaging; Assembly; and Process instructions). Ensure all parameters on the check list are in the process books during each run.
  • Perform dimensional checks on parts manufactured using fixture gage, calipers, or the gage of record during production run.
  • Conduct Internal Audits (System; Process; and Product audits); Communicate results to Supervisors and Quality Manager.
  • Receiving product inspection.
  • Support Production Team to provide Training; and other guidance (as needed)
  • Support Engineering Team in Tool Trials (as needed)
  • Participate in Supplier and Customer problem solving activity (as needed)
  • Lead and participate in Quality Containment actions (as needed)
  • Assist with Gage R&R.
  • Production floor audits, including process books, gaging of parts, internal sorting.
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities assigned by Quality Manager.

Other Essential Duties:

  • Participate in and support Plant-wide Safety; Cleanliness; Organized; and 5S initiatives.
  • Represent the Quality Function appropriately and professionally to new and current production Team members.
  • Stop the manufacturing process if the result does not produce a quality part within specifications.
  • Stop the manufacturing process if there are any safety concerns (and notify management immediately)
  • Quarantine or recommend "stop-ship" of products that do not meet quality requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, and/or demonstrated work-experience in a quality inspection role.
  • Experience with Injection Molding processes and/or components.
  • Able to use and read standard quality measuring tools, e.g., Calipers, Micrometers, Hight Gage, Plug or Pin Gages.
  • Demonstrated understanding of inspection techniques and experience using Calipers; Micrometers; Height gages; Check-fixtures.
  • Strong Team orientation and organizational skills.
  • Proven communicational skills, both written and oral.
  • Knowledge and experience using Word, Excel, and Power Point software.
