Job DescriptionJob Description Pomerene Kinetics is looking to hire a dedicated Massage Therapist to join our team. Contract, Casual, PT/FT opportunities are available.

Job Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Kinetics Manager, the Massage Therapist (MT) is responsible for providing 30-90 minute massages to clients by appointment, guiding clients through service offerings and determining which massage would benefit them the most, note any health conditions while determining the clients painful or stressed areas of the body, listen to clients during appointment and adjust technique as desired, suggest further massage appointments and regime to clients, and deliver excellent customer service at all times.

Essential Functions

•Schedule and administer 30-90 minute massages

•Massage and knead muscles and soft tissue of the body to provided treatment for medical conditions, injuries, or wellness maintenance.

•Converse with clients about their medical histories and problems with stress or pain to determine how massage will be most helpful. Assess client’s soft tissue condition, joint quality, and function, muscular strength, and range of motion.

•Treat clients in a professional setting and environment in a designated Massage Therapy Room.

•Provide clients with guidance and information about technique for postural improvement and stretching, strengthening, relaxation, and rehabilitation exercises or services offered at the facility.

•Make regular rounds of facility in an effort to assist members and guests with any service related issues or questions.

•Display proficiency in the operation Outlook.

•Adhere to all Pomerene Hospital employee policies.

•When not in Massage Therapy appointments or assisting clients, all Massage Therapist follow the equipment cleaning and preventative maintenance checklist. All equipment needs to be inspected and cleaned in accordance with the cleaning duties scheduled. Will assist in daily operations of facility as needed.

•Become knowledgeable and proficient in all facility rules, regulations, policies and procedures. In addition to services and service lines.

•Encourage client retention and maintain client threshold required for department operations.

•Maintain current information on all facility programs, series and activities and promote regularly.

•Always great members and guests (by name) with a smile and deliver exceptional customer service at all times.

•Actively participate in the integration of all Pomerene departments. This includes promoting other departments and assisting in the operation of those departments when necessary.

•Maintain responsibility for on-going positive communication with all peers, superiors, employees and clients.

•Actively participate in Pomerene Employee Programs

•All other duties as assigned.

Education

Completion of Accredited Program - Related Field

Associate of Applied Science Degree, Associate of Technical Studies Degree, or Completion of a Certified Program.

Experience

3+ Years Hospitality/Food Services - Spa/Guest Services Preferred

Certification & Licensures

State Medical Board of Ohio Licensures & Current BLS Certification

Additional related certifications as they pertain to massage therapy technique or specialty are preferred. Must be capable of maintaining positive ongoing communications.
