Position Summary (onsite Belleville, IL)
As a Sr. Buyer at TerraSource Global, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials and services essential for our production operations. Your responsibilities will include sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, monitoring inventory levels, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable terms. Your attention to detail, market knowledge, and ability to manage procurement processes efficiently will contribute directly to our operational success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement Execution:
- Process purchase requisitions and orders to ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
- Monitor and track deliveries to ensure adherence to delivery schedules.
- Expedite orders and manage shortages, backlogs, and other potential interruptions to production schedules.
Inventory and Demand Planning:
- Collaborate with production planning and inventory control teams to forecast demand and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Analyze inventory levels and usage patterns to optimize inventory turns and minimize carrying costs.
Supplier Relationship Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on cost, quality, service, availability, reliability, and compatibility with company requirements.
- Develop and nurture relationships with suppliers to foster long-term partnerships and resolve any issues that arise.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to procurement and purchasing activities.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Experience
- A minimum of 1-3 years in buying and supply chain operations required. preferably involving some outside contract manufacturing.
- Previous JD Edwards (JDE) experience preferred
