Alvarado Parkway Institute is San Diego's leading provider of comprehensive mental health and substance abuse care. API offers a variety of Outpatient Services designed to assist patients in functioning at the highest level. API provides Partial Hospitalization services and Intensive Outpatient services. These programs emphasize symptom management, community integration, and prevention of hospitalization or re-hospitalization. Value-added services enhance the patient's treatment experience. Our mission at API is to improve mental health and quality of life by helping people maximize their potential.
Alvarado Parkway Institute is currently seeking a qualified individual to join our team as a Social Worker API has (3-Per-Diem ) Positions open. Primarily located at our Inpatient Hospital In La Mesa.
Responsibilities
Carries out the personnel management activities associated with direct staff supervision, including screening and selection, orientation training and development, performance management, and employee relations functions.
- Conducts psychosocial assessments to document the history and identify preliminary issues for treatment focus.
- Provides group and family process-oriented therapies and conduct educational and other didactic groups using various treatment modalities
- Develops and coordinates an individualized discharge plan to determine aftercare needs
- Attends treatment team meetings to provide social work perspective to total case management
- Reports to community/state agencies, i.e. sexual/physical/psychological abuse, and firearms.
- Represents the facility in 14 Cert and Writ Hearings
- Facilities patient placement
- Masters degree in Social Work or equivalent Masters Degree in a recognized mental health field
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with the clinical team
- Organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills
- Advanced principles of abnormal psychology
- Strong hospital experience and experience in working with psychiatric patients
- Skill in case management and intervention techniques
- Knowledge of involuntary commitment procedures and local San Diego community resources
