Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA)
Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our skilled nursing facility in High Point, NC, on a 13-week contract basis with a weekend rotation schedule. As a COTA, you will play a crucial role in assisting our residents with rehabilitative activities to enhance their daily living skills and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Implement occupational therapy treatment plans under the supervision of licensed occupational therapists.
- Provide direct therapy services to residents, including therapeutic exercises, activities, and functional training.
- Monitor and document residents' progress and responses to therapy sessions accurately and timely.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop individualized care plans based on resident assessments and therapy goals.
- Educate residents and their families about therapeutic interventions and techniques to promote independence and well-being.
- Maintain compliance with facility policies, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards.
Requirements:
- Associate degree from an accredited occupational therapy assistant program.
- Current licensure or certification as a COTA in the state of North Carolina.
- Prior experience in a skilled nursing facility or similar healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members.
- Flexibility to work weekends as part of a rotating schedule.
- Proficiency in basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
