Overview: Seeking a dedicated and passionate High School Science Teacher committed to the ministry, philosophy, and goals of Catholic education. The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality science instruction to students in grades 9-12, fostering both academic excellence and spiritual growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging science lessons in accordance with the curriculum standards.
  • Teach a range of high school science courses, potentially including Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Earth Science, with an emphasis on Advanced Placement courses.
  • Develop and implement standards-based assessments to evaluate student progress and inform instruction.
  • Integrate instructional technology effectively, utilizing Chromebooks and other classroom technology tools.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the intellectual, spiritual, and emotional growth of all students.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and administration to support student learning and school initiatives.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices and stay current with educational trends.
  • Uphold the mission and values of Catholic education in all interactions and teaching practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field is required.
  • Valid Florida Department of Education Professional Certificate or Statement of Eligibility in Sciences (grades 6-12) is required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with instructional technology.
  • Master's degree in a science-related field is preferred.
  • Teaching experience across all levels of high school secondary sciences, including Advanced Placement, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with standards-based assessment and classroom technology integration using Chromebooks is advantageous.
  • Ability to teach multiple high school science subjects is advantageous.
