Primary purpose: Proficiently and efficiently receive all products and materials into inventory. Comparing packing lists to purchase orders/ sales orders, ensuring accurate and timely receiving


Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Accurate Receiving: Navigate vendor labels and receivers to ensure proper placement of stock and special orders, comparing received products to packing lists to verify correctness and inspecting for damages.
  2. Labeling and Staging: Properly label and stage all inbound materials, ensuring organization and accessibility within the inventory system.
  3. Customer Interaction: Interact with internal and external customers, vendors, 3rd party truck drivers, and railways in a professional and courteous manner.
  4. System Navigation: Utilize basic navigation in Bistrack to manage inventory transactions and communicate effectively with relevant stakeholders.
  5. Communication and Coordination: Communicate with corporate buyers, other locations, Account Coordinators, and sales personnel regarding transfers, orders, and inventory-related matters.
  6. Process Improvement: Proactively look for ways to improve the receiving process, suggesting and implementing enhancements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
  7. Additional Responsibilities: Perform basic housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and organized work environment, and assist with other tasks as assigned by the General Manager.
Requirements:

Required:

  • Software Proficiency: Knowledge of basic Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues, customers, and vendors.
  • Forklift Certification: Possess or willingness to obtain forklift certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to perform physical activities requiring the use of arms and legs, including lifting, walking, stooping, and handling materials.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to work in inclement weather conditions and demonstrate versatility, self-motivation, and teamwork.
  • Punctuality: Consistently show up on time and complete daily tasks by deadlines, ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Preferred:

  • Inventory Management Experience: Prior experience in inventory receiving or management roles, with familiarity with inventory control systems and processes.
  • Process Optimization: Experience in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory management.
  • Customer Service Orientation: Friendly, approachable demeanor with a respectful attitude towards others, promoting positive interactions with customers and team members.
