The ideal candidate is a skilled Low Voltage Technician who will work on various residential and commercial projects. This role will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing low voltage systems and equipment. This is a hands-on role that requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to work independently, takes pride in providing excellent customer service, completes tasks with care, and consistently meets deadlines.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, troubleshoot, and repair low voltage systems that may be located in attics, crawl spaces, and other confined spaces.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure successful installation, repair, replacement, testing and operation of low-voltage systems.
  • Run cabling, connections, equipment, and wiring for low voltage systems. Ensure installations comply with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Test and inspect installed systems to ensure proper functionality. Troubleshoot electrical wiring & low voltage components.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide technical support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of work performed, including system design changes and updates.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in low voltage technology
  • Attend training sessions on new products, installation methodology and safety as directed.
  • Use designated tools, systems, resources, and applications to manage various aspects of the job.
  • Represent Sol-Up and our brand with professionalism, integrity, and passion.
  • Strictly follows quality, safety and workplace behavior standards.
  • Reports accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to the manager.
  • Responsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.
  • Complete other duties as assigned or required.
Requirements:

Job Qualifications

  • Typically requires a High School diploma or equivalent, with 2-4 years of low-voltage, telephone/data systems experience - 2 - 4 years (Required)
  • OSHA 10 training certification
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of electrical principles
  • Experience in field service or a similar role
  • Proficiency in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Familiarity with solar industry is a plus
  • Ability to use hand tools and specialized equipment for installation and maintenance tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail while executing multiple projects and objectives
  • Strong communication, professionalism, and customer service skills, attention to detail and organization
  • Pass a pre-employment criminal background and drug screen
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Valid drivers license and able to satisfy a driver history check

Physical Requirements

Must be able to:

  • Work in extreme environments, e.g. hot sun, crawl spaces, ladders, roofs, etc.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, work on rooftops and work on feet for extended periods of time
  • Lift or carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
  • Physically access all areas of the office and work environment with or without a reasonable accommodation.
  • Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external clients and contacts.
  • Ability for prolonged periods of time to sit, walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel.

Compensation:

$18 - $25 per hour, based on experience and abilities

Schedule:
