Job Summary:

Mix Masters will be accountable for operating equipment and tending machines that mix or blend any of a wide variety of materials such as fruit and vegetable products, coffee, smooth soups, and smoothies. Responsibilities include blending ingredients, recording lot numbers, processes, and to excel in the multiple facets of training quality assurance, and GMP guidelines.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Tend to accessory equipment such as pumps and conveyors to move materials or ingredients through production processes.
  • Measure and weigh materials, ingredients, and products to ensure required conformance according to formulas
  • Collect samples of materials or products for laboratory testing
  • Test samples of materials or products to ensure specification is compliant while using testing equipment.
  • Required to add or mix chemicals and ingredients for processing, using hand tools or other devices.
  • Observes, receives, and obtains information from all relevant sources to provide to Supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates.
  • Record operational data, like temperatures, ingredients used, processing times, for test results.
  • Practices and complies with all company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
  • Follows general housekeeping procedures.
  • Know how to use LOTO (lockout Tagout) and apply it correctly
  • Ability to work and perform in confined spaces, exposure to high noise volume, dust, and odors.
  • Must be able to work in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong time management skills with the ability to work without extensive supervision
  • Understand and adhere to all safety guidelines and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
  • CIP, COP, and SIP before and after production
  • Assist in allergen monitoring programs
  • Housekeeping/Sanitation
  • Troubleshooting
  • Batching and Processing assistance
  • QA monitoring and recording assistance
  • Uphold SQF requirements including promotion of a strong & positive food safety culture
  • Active involvement in implementation, upkeep and continuous improvement of food safety as part of an interdisciplinary team

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize; strong time management skills with the ability to work without extensive supervision
  • Thorough working knowledge of all current OSHA and Safety Standards
  • Attention to detail
  • Must work well in teams and demonstrate behavior conducive to promoting strong teamwork
  • Must possess a positive attitude in a fast-paced production environment
  • Must be punctual, on site and ready for work at scheduled hours
  • Able to read batch tickets and prepare labels for products, basic math.


Education and Experience:

  • High School degree or equivalent.
  • One year of experience working with machinery in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Experience blending and making a product in a batch process is preferred
  • Forklift and Aerial platform certification within 3 months of hire

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for 8-hour shifts
  • Perform repetitive or continue behavior including lifting 20-30 pounds
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds at times
  • Frequent bending, crouching, or twisting
  • Work in various adverse conditions such as tight or enclosed spaces, heights, and temperature extremes to complete work assignments

Ability to work in fast-paced production environment
