The best women’s hospital in Los Angeles is looking for current RN candidates to staff Operating Room, Emergency Department, Labor & Delivery and Mother-Baby care units to be housed in our expanding new patient tower facility scheduled to open next year. Job Summary:
To coordinate financial activities of the organization, primarily as it relates to financial reporting, treasury management, and internal control, resulting in the production of timely, reliable, and relevant information for both internal and external users and the safeguarding of the organization’s assets.
- Supporting the company’s strategic and operational financial planning by preparing routine, periodic and ad hoc financial reports with supporting documentation including:
- Annual business plan development and operating & capital budgets for the division and the company;
- Financial modeling and analysis to support development of long term strategic initiatives and business plans
- Monthly and YTD budget to actual variance analysis
- Development of flex budget
- Preparation of package and / or presentations, as requested by CFO, for the CEO and/or the Board of Directors
- To operate the business unit whereby its employee’s engagement scores exceed annual and long term expectations.
- Along with the entire company’s teams and leadership, to operate the company and this business unit at or better than budgeted patient safety and satisfaction annual and long term expectations
- Leading, supervising and managing this business unit’s assigned direct reports. Building and leading teams, conduct employee evaluations, staff training and development, taking appropriate disciplinary actions, designing corrective performance plans, making hiring/termination recommendations in conjunction with CFO and Human Resources
- Internal financial management and reporting. To:
- Prepare on a timely basis monthly financial statements and supporting documents in accordance with the Monthly Financial Statement Closing Schedule and with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Review and prepare commentary on detailed balance sheet analysis and operations analysis prepared by staff accountants
- Be an integral member of the division’s leadership including recording and notifying the CFO of significant exposure areas (i.e. Worker’s Comp, Group Health, Payroll Liab., etc.)
- Collaborate with appropriate staff in the development of departmental budget
- Working with the company’s quality and process improvement resources and teams to continually improve the results of the division’s and the business unit’s ability to
Identify errors, inefficiencies, and inaccuracies along with solutions for process improvement - Identifies and pursues revenue enhancements and/or cost savings
- Efficaciously draft and implement policies, procedures, standards and regulations.
- Effectively budget and report financial and operating results for the company, the finance division, this business unit and business units throughout the company.
- Ensure compliance with professional and voluntary and governmental regulatory authorities.
- Leading and ensuring the company’s treasury and cash management exceeds national best practice standards.
- Completing other assignments and special projects as assigned by the Assistant Controller/Controller/CFO.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Business Administration (with major in Finance, Accounting or Economics) from an accredited university or college
Preferred Education:
- MBA or CPA Preferred.
Minimum Work Experience and Qualifications:
- Five (5) or more years of direct or equivalent experience in complex healthcare entity financial management.
- At least eight (8) years supervisory experience with three (3) or more concurrent direct reports
- Direct experience in mentoring and developing staff technical skills and team cohesiveness.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work in a union environment.
