Staff Accountant

Overview: Dallas based private wealth management firm is looking to add value to their team by hiring a Staff Accountant. This is a critical role for the organization and will directly support the Assistant Controller with great exposure to leadership and important stake holders. This role offers a prime opportunity for professional development and career progression within a company that values culture, family, and service.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary owner and system administrator of the Bank's asset and liability management system (Abrigo) and Net Interest Income forecast
- Prepare quarterly bank regulatory reporting (Call Report)
- Responsible for monthly investments accounting
- Assist with internal and external auditor requests
- Maintain the fixed assets subledger
- Serve as backup for daily bank reconciliations
- Document, prepare, input, and post journal entries into the general ledger
- Prepare general ledger account reconciliations and supporting schedules for balance sheet accounts
- Finance and accounting special projects
- Other duties as assigned by management
MINIMUM POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3 years public accounting or industry experience in the financial services industry
- Accounting degree with CPA license (or progress towards CPA license)
- Banking and/or wealth management industry experience a plus
- General ledger accounting experience preferred
- Technology savvy with advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Experience working in cloud-based ERP accounting system (Oracle NetSuite a plus)

- Highly detail-oriented and organized, with strong written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to work with multiple departments across the firm and represent the firm's culture of strong ethics, values, and collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize various responsibilities to meet a constant stream of deadlines
- Ability to maintain extreme confidentiality when dealing with client matters
- Must consent to and have favorable consumer report and background check
