JOB DESCRIPTION

Residential Support Specialists play a pivotal role in fostering a safe and therapeutic environment conducive to the emotional well-being and holistic growth of youth in Residential Care. With a trauma-informed approach, counselors empower youth to implement personalized treatment plans while offering physical care, social and moral guidance, skill development, and positive role modeling.


ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a Residential Support Specialist, you will directly contribute to youth treatment by:

  • Providing individual and group milieu counseling to address various challenges such as anxiety, depression, psychosis, anger management, and trauma.
  • Collaborating with team members, including managers, nurses, therapists, and doctors, to develop and execute treatment plans.
  • Empowering youth to achieve safety goals and offering crisis intervention as necessary.
  • Cultivating a nurturing and secure environment where youth feel valued and understood.
  • Advocating for the needs of youth and celebrating their progress towards recovery.


SHIFTS AVAILABLE:

We offer Full-Time and Part-Time positions with various shift options, including weekends:

Full-Time Schedules:

  • AM: 6:30am - 2:30pm (Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday)
  • PM: 2:00pm - 11:00pm (Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday)
  • OVERNIGHT: 10:30pm - 8:30am (Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday)

Weekend Shifts:

  • AM: 6:30am - 2:30pm (Saturday and Sunday)
  • PM: 2:00pm - 11:00pm (Saturday and Sunday)

Part-Time Positions also available.

Qualifications


ABOUT YOU:

We are seeking candidates who are patient, empathetic, excellent communicators, active listeners, resourceful, culturally competent, and team-oriented.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum age of 21
  • High school diploma or higher education
  • Clear criminal history
  • Ability to pass drug screening (excluding THC), TB test, and physical
  • Experience working with youth (as listed on your resume)
  • Availability for new-hire and ongoing trainings on weekdays
  • Willingness to work with Covid-positive youth with appropriate precautions
