Position Summary: Southeastern Michigan Health Association (SEMHA) is looking for a passionate reliable Dietician/Nutritionist to work with the Fit Kids 360 program at Kids Heath Connection organization(non-profit). The Fit Kids 360 program focuses on childhood obesity intervention, that targets children 5-17 years old who have a Body Mass Index in the 85th percentile or above and are referred by their primary care physician.


Schedule:

  • 8 – week program
  • 3-5 hours per week.
  • One evening per week.

Duties:

  • Prepare weekly interactive and creative lectures to Fit Kids and families utilizing FitKids360 curriculum.
  • Purchase and prepare healthy and fun snacks each week (KHC provide funds for the purchase of food)
  • Present a sugary beverage demonstration to Fit Kids and their families.
  • Review curriculum and provide an engaging and thoughtful manner.
  • Be available for questions from families and able to work one-on-one with Fit Kids

Requirements:

  • Degree in nutrition, dietetics, food science, or related field (master’s degree optional)
  • Registered Dietitian preferred, but not required.
  • Experience working with children preferred.
  • Willing to travel to different locations in the Detroit area.
  • Teaching experience with families or children is a bonus.

Salary: $24.00 hourly

Employment type: 1099 Contractor Position
